◆蒔絵万年筆　No.12『菖蒲』
菖蒲は古くから解毒作用がある薬草として重宝され、また邪気を払う魔除けのお守りであると信じられてきました。日本ではその発音が「尚武」に通じることから、特に武家に好まれた文様です。

本体素材：エボナイト、漆

The Japanese iris has long been valued as a medicinal herb with antidote properties, and was believed to be a talisman to ward off evil spirits.
In Japan, irises were particularly popular with the samurai because of their pronunciation, which is related to the word “Shobu” (Warrior Spirit).

輪島屋善仁

この度、当社の長らくのお得意様より湯呑セットをご用命いただき、先日お届けしてまいりました。
これらの湯呑は、上品な溜塗に金色豊かな草花絵変り蒔絵を描いたものです。
今までペア等のご用命は頂いた事があったのですが、10客まとめてというのは初めてでございました。
ご納品時にお客様より、「10種のお花が揃った美しい姿が圧巻です」と大変ありがたいお褒めの言葉を頂戴し、震災以降気が滅入りがちたっだ職人達も励まされ、皆大変嬉しい気持ちになりました。

そして、「こんなに愛らしく美しい輪島塗を皆様にもお知らせすることが、微力ながら何かお手伝いになれるかも」とお言葉をいただき、会員制サロンにてオーナー様のご友人 @enlien_kiyoe 様に当社の丸皿とコーディネートして撮影していただいた、とても素晴らしい写真を頂戴いたしました。

今回この様な暖かいお心遣いを賜り、私共も益々復興に向けて皆様のご支援に報いるものづくりに努め、輪島塗という伝統工芸のすばらしさを一人でも多くの方にお伝えできればと考えております。本当にありがとうございました。

Recently, we received an order for a set of teacups from one of our long-time valued customers, and we delivered them the other day.

These teacups are elegantly crafted with a refined tame-nuri lacquer finish and adorned with exquisite makie designs featuring a variety of golden floral patterns.

Although we have previously received orders for pairs of these teacups, this was the first time we were asked to provide a set of ten. Upon delivery, the customer graciously praised the set, saying, “The beauty of all ten flowers coming together is truly breathtaking.” This heartfelt compliment greatly encouraged our artisans, who had been feeling dispirited since the earthquake, and brought joy to everyone involved.

Furthermore, the customer shared their sentiment, saying, “I hope that by showcasing such charming and beautiful Wajima lacquerware, even in a small way, I can help spread its beauty to more people.” As a kind gesture, her friend @enlien_kiyoe coordinated our round lacquer plates with the teacups and arranged a stunning photoshoot at a members-only salon, sharing the wonderful images with us.

Receiving such warm support has strengthened our commitment to honoring everyone’s encouragement by continuing our craftsmanship with even greater dedication toward recovery. We sincerely hope to share the beauty of Wajima lacquerware with as many people as possible.

私たちにとって、今年は元日の16時10分を境に世界が一変した1年となりました。復興は遅々として進まず、さらに9月の豪雨災害が追い打ちをかけるように発生し、あの日から1年という月日が経ったことが信じられないような日々が今も続いています。

そのような状況の中で、たくさんの皆様から大きなご支援を賜りました。皆様からの暖かいお心遣いが、私たちにとって何よりの大きな力となっております。この場をお借りして、改めて心より御礼申し上げます。いただいた御恩に報いるべく、来年はさらなる努力を重ねてまいりたいと存じます。

For us, this year has been one in which the world changed after 16:10 on New Year's Day. The recovery process has been slow and the torrential rain disaster in September has followed suit, and it is still hard to believe that a year has passed since that day.

今日11月13日は「漆の日」です。
ご報告が遅れましたが、今年も岩手県二戸市浄法寺から新しい漆が届いています。
先日いつものように上塗師たちが集まり開封式wを行いました。皆で漆を肌で感じて、乾き具合など今年の漆の性格を確かめます。
浄法寺の皆さん、今年も本当にありがとうございました。良い塗りものを作れるよう、一滴も無駄にすることなく大切に使います。

Today, November 13, is “Urushi Day”.
We are late in reporting this, but new lacquer has arrived from Joboji in Ninohe, Iwate Prefecture again this year.
The other day, the top coat lacquerers gathered as usual and held an opening ceremony. They felt the lacquer on their skin and checked the characteristics of this year’s lacquer, such as how dry it is.
We would like to thank everyone at Joboji for their support this year. We will use it carefully and not waste a single drop so that we can make good products.

菊は奈良時代に薬用として中国から伝わりました。菊を浸した水を飲むと長寿が保てるとの故事から、延命長寿の象徴となりました。

おむすび皿　黒朱ぼかし塗「草結ぶ」蒔絵

「草結ぶ」とは奈良時代からの風習で、草と草を結び合わせて互いの心が離れないように祈ったり、旅の安全や幸運を願ったと言われています。これからも多くの皆様から良いご縁を結んでいただければ…という想いを込めて製作しました。縁をわずかに上げ、使いやすい形に仕上げてあります。

The term "Kusa-musubu" was an old custom of tying grass together to pray for two people's hearts to stay together or for a safe journey and good fortune. 塗り椀アート
海外の方々は、日本の伝統工芸品を使うのではなく、飾るものとして楽しむことが多いと耳にしました。
そこで、輪島塗の漆器も「飾る」という新しいアプローチで作品を制作するのはどうかと考えました。
輪島屋善仁さんに「アートとしての輪島塗」をご相談したところ、額装に入った蓋付き椀というアイデアをいただきました。
しかし、その後の震災で計画は一時中断されてしまいました。

それにもかかわらず、輪島屋善仁さんは震災復興の多忙な中でも、このアート作品の制作を再開してくださいました。
今回ご紹介する作品は、震災によって傷ついたお椀を新たにアートとして再生したものです。
その制作過程には、伝統工芸への深い愛情と新たな命を吹き込むための真摯な思いが込められています。

このような尊い輪島塗のアート作品を、ぜひご覧いただき、その美しさと精神をご体感いただければ幸いです。

We heard that people from overseas often enjoy traditional Japanese crafts as decorations rather than using them.
So we thought that it would be a good idea to create works of art using a new approach, in which Wajima-nuri lacquerware is also ‘decorated’.
When we discussed ‘Wajima-nuri as art’ with Wajimaya Zenni, they gave us the idea of a bowl in a frame.
However, the plan was temporarily halted due to the subsequent earthquake.

Nevertheless, Wajimaya Zenni resumed the production of this artwork despite the busyness of the earthquake reconstruction.
The work presented here is a new artwork made from bowls damaged by the disaster.
The production process is filled with a deep love for the traditional craft and a sincere desire to breathe new life into it.

We hope you will visit these precious Wajima-nuri artworks and experience their beauty and spirit.

21日から22日にかけて能登地方を襲った集中豪雨により犠牲になられた方へ、心よりご冥福をお祈りいたします。また、行方不明の方が早く無事に戻られますようお祈り申し上げます。

当社社屋は幸い大きな被害は受けておりません。ご心配いただいた皆様へ厚く御礼申し上げます。

写真は社員が撮った市内の様子です。3､4枚目は一夜明けた状況です。

今回、お取引先様や当社社員の中に深刻な被害を受けた者もおります。元日の地震に続いて再び大きな災害に見舞われ、自然の威力の前に人間の非力さをつくづく感じてしまいますが、前を向いて復興を目指していきたいと考えております。どうか引き続き変わらぬご愛顧のほど、お願い申し上げます。

We pray for the victims of the torrential rain that hit the Noto region on 21, 22 September. We also pray for the safe return of those who are still missing.

Fortunately, our company building was not seriously damaged. We would like to thank everyone for your concern.

Following the earthquake on New Year's Day, we have once again been hit by a major disaster, which makes us feel deeply the ineffectiveness of human beings in the face of the power of nature. Some of our employees have also suffered serious damage, but we are determined to look forward and work towards recovery. We would like to ask for your continued support and patronage.
